Kitty Brucknell
Kitty – Lady Gaga and Queen Week
WOW. What a week it has been for X Factor starting with the fact that Frankie Cocozza left the competition earlier this week. Although Frankie’s departure may not have been seen as having a direct affect on Kitty, truth was that the outcome of this was a shake up for everyone.
After Frankie left, the producers of the ITV show decided that the first 4 contestants in the show would come back (they have never faced the public vote to be eliminated) and we would have 3 days to vote back in the one we would like to see most. Kitty was quite vocal about the fact that she felt this change would be a real game changer, and the comeback of Amelia Lily seems to have done this.
This week was battle of the songs as Kitty and Misha B battled it out to sing Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, which it was widely assumed Kitty would sing. However Misha B sang the song, leaving Kitty to sing Don’t Stop Me Now which earned her a place in the bottom 2. Kitty once again put her all into the show which saw her give a dramatic performance as Lady Godiva and some interesting dance routines by her ‘horse’ backing dancers.
Both Misha B and Kitty were in the final 2, which saw them both belt out heart felt tunes and give great performances. Unfortunately Kittys version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow wasn’t enough and she was sent home by the judges.
However Kitty was said to be in great spirits last night after Lady Gaga burst onto the stage during last nights Xtra Factor and gave the wannabe popstar a pep talk, a hug and an invite out for a drink after the show. Kitty tweeted after this that the popstar had given her amazing advice and that we should be sure that this isn’t the last of the blonde bombshell. We are sure she has loads more up her sleeve and we can’t wait to see what is in store for her and her music career!
Kitty – Dance Week

Kittys X Factor journey has always been an up and down one, with mixed public perception and media response. Kitty has already survived a sing off against Sami and so the fact that this week due to be a double elimination must have been scary for the dramatic popstar.
After Kittys performance of Madonna’s Like A Prayer received mix response from the judges, although no one can deny that each and every week, Kitty puts on a full performance and really does put 101% into entertaining those watching.
After her performance Tulisa told Kitty “That tells me that unlike some performers in the competition you are the kind of artist who could hold a concert, an area tour and it’s very important to be able to do that.”
However Kelly Rowland saying the performance “fell just a little bit flat” and Take That star Gary Barlow agreed. It seems these responses upset Kitty who was said to be crying backstage after the show.
When Sunday night came round we were sad to see Kitty in the bottom 3 which saw boyband The Risk sent home after receiving the least votes. This then left 2 of Louis acts in the bottom 2 with Kitty and Jonny Robinson singing for survival in the bottom 2, with the judges left with the decision of who to save.
Kitty belted out a fantastic and heartfelt performance of Kelly Clarksons “Beautiful Disaster” which saw every act save her and send Jonny home. The voting was a shock this week as no one expected The Risk to be sent home, despite their difficult few weeks and a change in members. Although double eliminations often do result in shocking voting results.
Thankfully our Kitty is safe to sing another week and she vows to put her all (as she always does) into making sure she stays. The self confessed perfectionist is already working on her future performances and so we’re excited to see what our blonde bombshell has up her sleeves for the rest of the ITV talent show.
Kitty – Halloween Week

After surviving the final 2 against Sami all eyes were going to be on Kitty this week from the moment she stepped on stage. Kitty has been the one act of this year that has audiences divided however there really can be no denying of her talent.
This week Kitty sang Sweet Dreams, originally performed by the Eurythmics and started her performance on a slow spinning wheel. Kitty has always been a girl all about the performance – so the fact that she could go all out on Halloween must have pleased her greatly. There were fantastic props on stage and her outfit was nothing short of breath taking.
After the performance mentor Louis Walsh told her he had made the “right decision” in saving her last week over Sami Brookes, but Alexandra Burke injected a note of doubt.”You are very entertaining but it could come across as slightly cabaret,” she said
However the audience seemed to agree with Louis, as Kitty sailed through to next weeks show and avoided the bottom 2. Kitty has admitted that being in the bottom 2 with Sami last week was a bit of a wakeup call, and whilst making her realise that she isn’t safe also resulted in her upping her game and making sure she does everything possible to stay safe in the competition
Kitty has stayed out of the limelight a little this week, although she has admitted that some of her antics during her original audition and the early boot camp stages were purely to gain attention and get her through to the live shows – which seem to have worked.
We don’t know what the rest of the competition holds for Kitty, although she does seem to have taken all of the themes so far in her stride so rather than be worried, we’re excited to see what the next few weeks of the competition ,which is due to end at Christmas has in store for our favourite contestant.
So all that remains to be seen is whether the rest of the voting public can be won over too!
Kitty – Week 3
For some reason Kitty does not seem to be connecting with the general public. Many people agree that Kitty is talented and has amazing vocals abilities; she controls the stage and puts on a show. So why did this week see her in the bottom 2?
There is no denying that Kitty is aware of her talents, she is confident and she knows what she wants – and she goes out to get it! It could be this self assured attitude that has stopped the nation falling in love with her.
This week was rock week, which gave Kitty the excuse to go all out on her performance – which she did. A piano, flames and an amazing outfit saw Kitty strut and sing her way through her own version of Live & Let Die.
There is pretty much no denying that her version of this was vocally flawless and the judges agreed. However the public vote on Sunday saw Kitty in the bottom two, with fellow over 25 contestant Sami.
Singing for survival, there is probably no surprise that Kitty chose a Lady Gaga hit to help save her skin. She sang a powerful and emotional version of ‘Edge Of Glory’ which rivalled Sami’s version of ‘Natural Woman’.
Taken to the judges vote Kitty as saved by both Gary and Kelly, whilst Tulisa opted to save curvy lass Sami. It was down to Louis, who was more or less expected to send it to deadlock. However Louis stated that he had to be true to his acts and follow his heart and saved Kitty, ensuring that she is safe to sing for at least another week.
So what will Kitty do differently next week? It is hard to know whether she can really turn this around. We love Kittys confidence and her stage presence; we love her vocals and her style so we really do not see why people aren’t voting for her! However they aren’t and so Louis and Kitty really need to work hard to turn this around and keep her safe if we want to see her in the show for weeks to come.
Kitty – Week 2
You can say what you like about Kitty but she knows how to put on a show and this week proved just that. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it once again, Kitty is the marmite of this year’s competition. You either love her or hate her, and she gives firm and strong reasons to do either.
The 2nd week of X Factor saw a “Love & Heartache” theme with contestants offering up all sorts of songs from a whole range of artists. Not one to follow the crowd Kitty decided to sing Bjorks ‘Its Oh So Quiet’. The song itself was originally done by a quirky artist and so it probably comes as no surprise to many that Kitty wanted to go one better.
With a mad hatters tea party theme Kitty took the stage with confidence and flawless vocals which secured her a place in next week’s final show. However to many people she still is connecting with the audience which could make things tough for her in future weeks.
X Factor seems to like underdogs and people who do not think they deserve to be there, which is where Kitty is struggling. She is confident and winning the X Factor is a goal that she feels she can do, which shows in her performances.
However the audience must like her to some extent as Nu Vibe and Frankie were left to battle it out for a week in next week’s show as they were in the bottom 2. The showdown saw judges voting on who to save, and sent home boyband Nu Vibe. Bands have traditionally done quite badly on X Factor so that maybe came as no surprise. A over 25 contestant hasn’t won the show since the 1st year when Steve Brockstein won, so could Kitty be the contestant to buck the trend and show that the elders have still got it. We certainly think so – so we waited with baited breath to see what the rest of the weeks have to offer.
Kitty – Week 1

X Factor always has a love or hate act – last year was Wagner, before that we had Jedward and this year we have Kitty. However no matter what you think of her, she has talent and this weeks performance was simply captivating.
The pressure was on for contestants this week as they were told 4 acts would be told to leave the competition, to get us down to the final 12 immediately. There would be no public vote instead each mentor would be told to vote off one of their acts, so Kitty’s fate was in Louis Walsh’s hands.
In the UK VS the USA theme show, Kitty decided to sing Queens “Who Wants To Live For Ever”. The raw performance certainly got people’s attention and the quality of her vocal really cannot be disputed. However there is still a worry that she isn’t liked by the public – as the likes of Twitter and Facebook went crazy after her performance.
That said there can be no denying that Kitty knows how to perform, entertain and how to control the stage – which was only proved by her faultless performance this week. Thankfully she did enough as Louis opted to put her through to the next stages and instead sent home solider JonJo.
Now we have to wait and see what the rest of the X Factor series has to give us. There can be no denying that the shakeup in judges has seen us enjoy a whole new show. Kitty has captured the headlines throughout the show – with rumours of previous jobs and ructions at boot camp. However that hasn’t stopped her, the pretty female is out to pack a punch and loves it when her dramatics grab the headlines.
So she is now through to the final 12 and we have to see what else the Lady Gaga impersonator has up her sleeve, whatever it is we can be sure that will be something fun and exciting, so we wait with baited breath to see what happens!
Kitty – Judges Houses
We have said it before and no doubt we’ll say it again – Kitty is well and truly the marmite of this years X Factor talent show. You really do love her or hate her. Most people will agree that she has the look and sound of a pop star but it is her confidence and sometimes emotional reactions that has the audience divided.
Her £2000 outfit at boot camp didn’t do her many favours with those that were already unsure about her place on the show as many people felt it was over the top and too much.
However we’re a massive fan of the Lady Gaga tribute singer and were over the moon when she sailed through boot camp to make it to judges houses.
She is now under the mentor advice of Irish music mogul Louis Walsh. Louise was joined by veteran X Factor opinions Sinitta as his final 8 sang to them, hoping for a place in the live finals.
As part of her attempt to wow the judges she sang a version of Kelly Clarkson’s Beautiful Disaster. The vocals and the performance were great and you could clearly see the judges were impressed, however Kitty then decided to end her performance by diving into the swimming pool that she was performing next too which had Louis worried that that the pretty blonde was too intense.
However it seems that the quirky end to her performance did her no harm as on Sunday nights show we saw that she had been picked as part of Louis’ line up for the final live shows. 16 acts make up the final line up in total which is due to start next week, so we wait to see what the talented pop start wanna be has up her sleeve to no doubt keep us all entertained. I am sure most people would agree that whatever happens, Kitty is going to be an interesting addition to this years live final, which should take us all the way up to Christmas.
Kitty Boot Camp
It can be no denying that dramatic Kitty is the marmite of this years X Factor competition. The Lady Gaga and Britney tribute act has gained attention from the media right from the day her first audition was aired on the ITV show.
The 26 year old was seen on our screens this weekend at the boot camp stage wearing a custom-made outfit. Before her audition she confessed that the attention grabbing outfit and left her unable to pay her rent because she had spent £2000 on the light up costume.
It seems that the daring move paid off as she performed Feeling Good and sailed through to the next stage of the auditions.
However is she popular with the people at home? Debates have sparked up over the whole internet, because although Kitty can undoubtedly sing many people aren’t sure about her dramatics both on and off the stage. Most people wouldn’t deny that she is a very talented lady but this self assuredness isn’t something we are used to seeing during competitions such as The X Factor so it remains to be seen what will happen next for this talented and confident lady.
Who Is Kitty Brucknell?
Kitty says that If Britney Spears had a baby with Adam Lambert…She’d be it. As X Factor contestants go, she is one of the wild ones – She is deemed the marmite contestant at the moment, you either love her or you hate her. She sang a version of Lady GaGa’s Edge Of Glory and impressed the judges with her confidence.
Kitty says that she was born to be famous and makes it her aim to be bigger than Britney spears – and she has so far appeared on 33 TV shows as part of her aim for fame.
